Description

The Refugee Council of Australia (RCOA) is the national umbrella body for refugees and the organisations and individuals who support them.

RCOA’s work is centred around five key areas:

  • policy;
  • support for refugees;
  • support for its members;
  • community education; and
  • administration.

The Migrant Resource Centre is supporting RCOA to hold meetings in Launceston as part of its annual community consultations.

These consultations are held every year to identify local, national and international advocacy issues, including for the Department of Immigration.

RCOA is undertaking some additional research this year on regional settlement and keen to hear from stakeholders interested in settlement of refugees in regional areas.

This time slot has been scheduled for key organisations such as councils, university, chambers of commerce, government and economic development bodies in the North and North West regions.

Venue: Windsor Community Precinct (Area 2), 1 Windsor Drive, Riverside. (The room is located in the main hub of the Precinct). Phone number for the venue is 6323 9200.
