Conference Scholarship Program - Apply Now

The Federation of Ethnic Communities’ Councils of Australia (FECCA) is seeking applications for the Scholarship Program to attend, and actively participate in, the FECCA 2019 National Biennial Conference – Purpose. Leadership. Progress: FECCA: 40 years and beyond – in Hobart, TAS, on 9-11 October 2019.

Successful recipients will receive complimentary registration to attend the Conference. They will have access to all Conference sessions (excluding the Conference Dinner), explore issues of interest, discuss their emerging ideas with experienced actors in the sector, network, and establish connections for the future.

Additional funds have been allocated towards travel assistance for a limited number of successful scholarship applicants of FECCA 2019. To apply for travel assistance, please indicate in your scholarship application that you would like to be considered for assistance, why you would require travel assistance and what your departing airport would be.  Please note that not all accepted scholarship applications will receive travel assistance.

Applications are sought from individuals who are keen to engage with the multicultural sector, and who are otherwise unable to attend the Conference due to financial reasons. We particularly encourage applications from:

  • New and emerging community leaders
  • Newly arrived refugees
  • Women from CALD communities
  • Students with interest in multiculturalism
  • CALD People living with disability

Please submit a maximum 300-word or 3-minute video application explaining why you are the ideal candidate for the Scholarship Program, how you would benefit from participating, and how you would apply the experience in your future activities.

All applications must be submitted by midnight Sunday 21 July AEST to fecca2019@conceptevents.com.au. To submit, use the subject line: FECCA 2019 Scholarship Program Application. Please note that scholarship applications will be accepted until midnight Sunday 21 July 2019, and all applicants will be notified of acceptance by Friday 26 July 2019.
