SBS Language Services Review—Have your Say

Have your Say – Submissions closing on 12 November 2021

SBS has commenced a review of their language services. The Language Services Review is a process undertaken every five years in line with the national Census, as part of SBS’s ongoing commitment to continue evolving to meet the needs of Australia’s rapidly changing and increasingly diverse society.

The Review encompasses SBS’s audio and language offerings including SBS Radio2, podcasting, and digital services; these are currently available in more than 60 languages. . The selection criteria will be used in conjunction with the 2021 Census data to determine the languages to be serviced by SBS, and help inform the way those services are delivered, for the next five years.

The public consultation on selection criteria is an important opportunity for everyone to contribute to the future of SBS language services. All feedback will be considered in establishing the final selection criteria, which are expected to be settled by May 2022.
