Council for Arab-Australia Relations grant round 2018-19

The Council for Australian-Arab Relations (CAAR) Grant Round will be open from 5 February - 4 April 2018.

The strategic priorities for 2018 are economic change, entrepreneurship, innovation, human rights, and social change and applications – applications should align with one of these priorities or with one of CAAR’s Flagship programs ( speakers, visitors, exchanges and women in leadership).

The objectives of  CAAR are to:

  • empower the peoples of Australia and the Arab world to develop a holistic and contemporary mutual understanding;
  • support positive and collaborative relationships between Australia's Arab diaspora communities and the broader Australian community; and
  • support activities that encourage increased trade and investment between the two regions.

Hobart’s Terrapin Puppet Theatre is a current awardee and has received a grant for a contemporary puppetry exchange between Jordan and Australia.

If you have any further queries on the grant procedure, please refer to the Australian Government's Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
