Conversations with SBS - Exploring Diversity in Tasmania

SBS will be hosting a community consultation, “ Conversations with SBS- Exploring Diversity in Tasmania”,  in Tasmania on June 21 at Moonah Arts Centre, Moonah.

Conversations with SBS- Exploring Diversity in Tasmaniaaims to bring together Tasmania’s key stakeholders to look at how the media reflects, recognises and celebrates diversity.

A panel of SBS Executive will take the opportunity to share information about SBS’s distinctive content and services, and the community consultation will be moderated by SBS World News presenter, Janice Petersen.

The aim is to facilitate an opportunity for key stakeholders to ask questions to the SBS panel on content  and services across SBS News, TV & Online Content (includes documentaries, sport, food, drama, entertainment), SBS Radio and Indigenous Australian Content with NITV.

SBS has hosted similar stakeholder forums in Queensland, Western Australia and South Australia and had great attendance from state and local government, local media (screen and broadcast), academics/university representatives, religious leaders, and principals and teachers.

The target audience is quite broad with the primary purpose to engage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, and Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) stakeholders working across various industries and professions in Tasmania.

A post-forum survey will be organised to gauge feedback and provide stakeholders further engagement opportunities.
