How can we recognise, value and acknowledge Tasmanian Carers through legislation?
Carer Recognition legislation will provide formal acknowledgement of the thousands of carers in our community and promote and value the importance of their care relationships. This legislation will support and recognise the over 80 000 Tasmanians who provide support to family members and friends as unpaid and informal carers.
The legislation will include a set of principles about the significance of care relations and include obligations for organisations that interact with people in care relationships.
We need your help to make sure this important legislation reflects the experience of Tasmania carers and makes a difference!
