Sonia Caton will be the Acting Chief Executive Officer at the Multicultural Council of Tasmania (MCOT) while Anna Reynolds takes extended leave from mid-July until the end of October.
Sonia is a lawyer who has worked in community legal centres and policy organisations over many years. Most recently she was the Director and Principal Solicitor of Brisbane’s Refugee and Immigration Legal Service and the Chair of the Refugee Council of Australia.
In her current capacity she has been involved with the compilation of an on-line Cultural Atlas, working closely with SBS and migrant communities. She has been active in the legal community that have been responding to the dramatic shifts in immigration policy in recent years. Sonia has extensive networks around Australia in the multicultural policy space.
