Training on the National Youth Settlement Framework

The Multicultural Youth Advocacy Network (MYAN) Australia is pleased to announce the launch of a series of training workshops on the National Youth Settlement Framework.

The Framework is the first of its kind in Australia and these workshops, held between August and November 2016, are an exciting opportunity to learn more about how you can apply it in your organisation or role.  The training in Tasmania will be held on 10 and 11 November 2016.

The Framework is designed to enable services to respond more effectively to the needs of young people from refugee and migrant backgrounds and support their active participation in Australian society.

The training will explore:

  • How practitioners and policy-makers can incorporate the Framework into their work, including using the Assessment Tools
  • Factors contributing to good settlement outcomes for young people
  • Good practice in facilitating active citizenship.

The training is targeted at staff and volunteers from government and non-government organisations who seek to strengthen their knowledge and practice in supporting young people from refugee and migrant backgrounds. It is suitable for those working in both direct service and policy/programming roles.
