The documentary Mary Meets Mohammed by Heather Kirkpatrick has been awarded Best Feature, Documentary or Current Affairs at the Tasmanian Media Awards 2014.
Mary Meets Mohammed documented the relationship between an asylum seeker in Pontville and a member of the Tasmanian community.
The Media, Entertainment and Arts Alliance (MEAA) judges said:
"In many ways she (Heather Kirkpatrick) succeeded where much of the media had failed in putting a human face on the ongoing national political issue of asylum seekers. It was a particularly Tasmanian angle on an ongoing national story".
Mary Meets Mohammed was shortlisted for a Walkley Award in 2013.
